Save Air Force Academy Women's Gymnastics

Last year our daughter attended the Air Force Academy gymnastics camp, she had the experience of a lifetime and made friends from all over the country. It inspired her to want to serve her country and to strive for her goal to be a college gymnast, now we are finding out that they may be cutting the program and that would be devastating to so many dedicated young men and women who have worked so hard to get there.

This posting is intended to express our support for the Air Force Academy Women's Gymnastics team and request your support.  The team has compiled an exemplary record and ranks near the top of every cadet category tracked by the Academy.  We are requesting your help that you will take all actions necessary to ensure that this program is not cancelled as a Division 1 sport at The Air Force Academy.

Help us save the Air Force Academy Women's Gymnastics team from being cut. This team is one of the highest performing sports teams at the Academy.  Its team rank in virtually every category demonstrates that it is one of the top sports teams on campus and helps achieve the Academy's mission.

Here are the Women's Gymnastics team's current rankings in the 6 categories tracked at the Academy:

GPA (Grade Point Average): #4 out of 27 teams

MPA (Military Performance Assessment): #1 out of 27 teams

PEA (Physical Education Assessment): #1 out of 27 teams

OPA (Officer Performance Assessment): #3 out of 27 teams

PFT (Physical Fitness Test): #1 out of 27 teams

AFT (Aerobic Fitness Test): #14 out of 27 teams

These student-athletes are the type of service people that we need protecting our country.  These student-athletes embody the characteristics of dedication and service.  Without some of these athletic programs, the overall quality of the education and graduates at the Air Force Academy will be diminished.

Contact your member of Congress, Senator, the Academy Superintendent, and the Athletic Director at the Academy to ask why this model program is being cut while others are not. Time is critical!
