There have been some minor voting problems today...and some major problems as reported here first. Our local leftwing liberal blogger, Jeff Pelline, is too busy spinning stories and got scooped by this blog. The article below came from The Union and concerns CP 56.
"A change in a polling location and a delivery mix-up contributed to a fair amount of confusion in the early hours of voting in Peardale and Chicago Park.
"A change in polling locations meant that both Peardale-Chicago Park fire stations, Station 57 and Station 257, were being used, rather than the Chicago Park School.
"'The warehouse delivered the voting machines for the two precincts to the wrong polling locations, said precinct inspector Karen Butler at Station 257.
"'At the training last week, I went to sign in and the precinct number was wrong,' Butler said.
"When the elections office discovered the error, they considered putting both precincts at one location, Butler said, adding she convinced them that wasn't going to work.
"'The machines were put in the right places as soon as we found out,' said Assistant County Clerk Recorder Gail Smith.
"The change in location from the school to the fire station left some voters confused and angry.
The problems today and during the primaries evidence sloppy procedures. Though I will not be a candidate for the office, someone needs to step up to the plate.
