Election Day in Afghanistan and at Home

This morning, I woke up very early and went on Facebook for a while. While I was reading, I saw my young cousin online. He is in the Army and recently was deployed to Afghanistan. Being so far away and feeling a little disconnected, he was happy to discuss the election today. We had a great conversation, and it gave me the opportunity to tell him how proud I am of him and how we pray for his safety while he defends our nation.

While he is in Afghanistan working to win hearts and minds, we have important choices to make at home. Do we want four more years of the last four years, or do we want real change? Either way, everyone needs to make their choice heard by voting today. You have no standing to complain if you do not vote.

Today, we exercise our rights as Americans. Today, we choose the future path of our great nation. Today, we are united in this historical experiment introduced by our Founding Fathers of one person, one vote! Today is our celebration of America!

Republican or Democrat, Tea Party or Occupy Wall Street, liberal or conservative, female or male, today is your day.

Go Vote!
